Help Us Help a Friend

On March 4, 2019, at 19 years old, Timmy Tusick (from West Geauga High School), a close friend of Brinn MacLellan ‘21, was diagnosed with leukemia after a frightening series of events that resulted in the near loss of his life. That’s when Brinn knew she had to help in any way she could. She launched a fundraiser through which people can donate or buy a shirt with the phrase “No one fights alone.” The Gilmour volleyball players will wear them when they play against Beaumont on October 3, a game that Timmy hopes to attend.

This fundraiser is not only to help support Timmy in his fight, but to spread awareness of this aggressive disease. Knowing that his treatment will take about three years total, Timmy remains positive in his fight, saying, “We are dealt a hand of cards in life. Sometimes you don’t get the best hand, but you have to play what you get.” As he continues to inspire others, the volleyball community will represent Timmy with the slogan “#26STRONG” on the front of the shirts. Join in Timmy's fight against leukemia!
