The Middle School boys baseball team (7-0-1) was able to get three of its four scheduled games in last week to keep its undefeated streak alive. A tight 5-4 victory over Shaker Heights started off the week. After being down 2-0 after three innings, a three-run fourth inning was sparked by a clutch hit by Aiden Owens '23 (pictured on the right) to give the Lancers the lead. Then, up 5-2 in the bottom of the seventh, the Lancers gave up two runs to bring the score to within one before Deaglan Bryant '23 (pictured on the left) struck out three to shut down the opponent's comeback attempt.

In the second game of the week, Gilmour hosted rival University School in a Battle of SOM game. The Lancers posted a pitching and defensive gem to shutout the Preppers 7-0. Marcus Berrios '23 and Troy Domen '24 were great on the mound. Bryant, Chad Plucinsky '23and Thomas Popovich '25 all had key hits in the game. Other hitting highlights were provided by Kevin Flaherty '24 with a beautiful sacrifice bunt and a timely hit. Brady Pietruszka '24 was instrumental in making a key double play - he caught a line drive to center and then doubled up a man on second, stopping the only US scoring threat.

The final game of the week was on the road at Ballard Brady and ended in a resounding 16-0 shutout. Owens struck out 10 in five innings of work as the Lancers totaled 16 hits on offense - three apiece from Plucinsky, Bryant and Lucas Perusek '23
