Victory may have eluded the varsity football team in the opening week of competition, but it was certainly not for a lack of effort. The Lancers battled until the end, even coming from behind late in the game. An unanswered score in overtime however, allowed St. Thomas Aquinas to pull away with the 28-21 win.

Gilmour trailed 7-0 at the midway point before gaining its offensive rhythm in the second half. Thomas Richardson '22 scored on a one-yard run, while Connor Krebs '20 (pictured on the left) also recorded a touchdown after a 53-yard run. One of the best highlights of the night was an 85-yard kickoff return by Santino Harper '23 (pictured on the right) as he opened his high school scoring account.

Krebs totaled 140 rushing yards on the night as Nathan Reichard '20 led the team in receiving with 66 yards on three catches. Defensively, Marco Costabile '20 had 13 tackles and Aidan Muchnicki '20 had 12. Jimmy McCrone '21 had eight tackles to go along with a big interception.
