Exciting news for Gilmour Academy and the Lancer hockey program! On September 18, 2019, Varsity A Hockey head coach John Malloy will be inducted into the Greater Cleveland Sports Hall of Fame. His inclusion with the Class of 2019 is a result of his longtime success in the sport of hockey, as well as his dedication to thousands of student-athletes in the Northeast Ohio area.

We are honored to have Coach Malloy as a member of the Lancer hockey coaching staff. Just this past season, he became the second all-time winningest coach in OHSAA hockey history. His 2018-19 Gilmour record of 31-5-2 improved his career varsity coaching record to 637-343-38. This includes his time at Gilmour (2004-2019) in addition to his years at Cleveland Heights (1981-1996) and Rocky River (1996-1998). Malloy is now just four victories shy of having the most wins of any high school hockey coach in Ohio history.
