The varsity cross country teams traveled to the Trumbull County Fairgrounds for the Legends Meet, which was the last regular-season invitational. The weather was ideal, the competition fierce and the Lancers did not disappoint.

The girls ran first, and in a field filled with top Division II and Division III talent, came away with a well-deserved fourth-place finish out 41 teams. The Lancers tied Maplewood for third, but slipped to fourth on the tie-breaker. Caitrina Barton '21 led the way with a 16th-place finish in 19:45. Mary Lombardo '22 (31st in 20:18) and Kaitlin Rulison '23 (37th in 20:34) helped pace the attack in career-best times. Jorja Hlifka '20 (pictured on the left) rejoined the lineup after injury and showed excellent veteran leadership, finishing 46th in 21:00. Mia Polisena '22 (73rd in 21:48), Nina Padanilam '22 (140th in 23:27) and Edith Tomasek '23 (234th in 27:31) rounded out the scoring in what was one of the best team performances of the year.

The boys followed up with a stellar team effort full of personal-best performances, finishing in 18th place out of 48 teams. Bryson Simpson '20 crossed the line in 15th (17:13) and Cole Durdella '20 in 23rd (17:23) to pace the Lancer attack.
