For the first time in the program's history, the Middle School cross country team was able to enter at least five runners in every race, enabling Gilmour to score as a team in each competition this year. Every runner made significant improvements in their times and placement in races and there were lots of PRs. Another highlight for the team and also another first in program history, every athlete broke the 16-minute barrier this season.

The two veteran runners, captain Ben Lindley '24 and Michael Piccirillo '24, surpassed their preseason goals. Piccirillo also joined an elite group of Gilmour Middle School runners who have run under 13 minutes for two miles. Newcomer Cedric Li '24 put up consistently fast times in every race. Two other newcomers to the program, Samir Pandya '26 and Joel Vaughan '26, had great seasons. Pandya showed a knack for distance running from the very beginning and Vaughan, who joined after the start of the season, worked incredibly hard and made huge strides in his running. Returning runner Matthew Mirando '25 ran in competitive races for the first time in his career. Head coach David Seibert said if awards were given out, he was definitely the top choice for most improved, considering his hard work, determination and progress throughout the past two seasons.
