The varsity softball team was victorious in its only two games this past week, defeating John F. Kennedy Catholic and Andrews Osborne. The Lancers outscored their opponents 26-4 on the way to improving their overall record to 9-3 and their North Coast League (NCL) record to 5-0. Against NCL opponent JFK, Gilmour scored nine runs in the third inning on its way to a 12-2 victory. Megan Mlinaric '22 got the win after giving up just one hit in three innings of relief as she struck out nine. She also had the team's only extra base hit of the day with a double. Maggie Goff '21 led the team with three stolen bases.

Then in a 14-2 independent-game win against AOA, the Lancers had another nine-run inning, this time in the top of the seventh. Mlinaric went the distance and had 15 strikeouts. She went four-for-four at the plate with a double and two RBI. Frankie Coan '20 and Abby Bartlett '19 (pictured on the right) each had three hits and two runs scored. Coan totaled two doubles and Bartlett had one. Maggie Dean '22 led the team with two stolen bases. Nicole Shipley '20 (pictured on the left) had a nice game behind the plate and threw out a runner attempting to steal second base.
