Softball: Lancers Earn NCL Championship

The varsity softball team finished its season winning a North Coast League (NCL) White Division Championship with a record of 7-1. The Lancers clinched the title with a victory against Cleveland Central Catholic in its final game of the 2019 season. Gilmour went 14-5 overall, tying the most wins for the program since the 2010 season. 

Several team members were awarded honors within the conference:

Offensive Player of the Year - Emmy Klika '21

Defensive Player of the Year - Frankie Coan '20

Rookie of the Year - Megan Mlinaric ' 22

Most Improved - Nicole Shipley '20

Coaches Award - Hannah Weltle '21

 

Several players also broke single-season records in 2019, including:

Batting Average - Emmy Klika '21 (.660)

On Base Percentage - Emmy Klika '21 (.704)

Pitching Ks - Megan Mlinaric '22 (134)

Pitching ERA - Megan Mlinaric '22 (1.29)

Additional awards at the local, regional and state levels will be announced in the coming weeks, and the team is hopeful that several Lancers will be among the honorees.
