The girls prep hockey team skated to a 3-1 record over the weekend at a showcase hosted by Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y.  Head coach Seanna Conway called it "a fantastic result" and cited the success as a product of all the work being put in by the players on a daily basis.

On Friday night, the team started off strong with a 4-0 win against the Rochester Edge 19U team. Goals were scored by Alaina Giampietro '22 (2), Emma Pickering '23 and Quinn Hartmetz '21Kristiana Apsite PG recorded an 18-save shutout in net.

On Saturday morning, the Lancers faced off against Ontario Hockey Academy Juniors and recorded another 4-0 shutout. Giampietro was on fire and accounted for all four Lancer goals. Apsite earned her second shutout of the weekend, taking her overall total to four in a row. She was tested in this game and came up big in several high-pressure moments, finishing the game with 38 saves.

After the Saturday morning game, the team enjoyed a tour of the stunning Hamilton campus, led by current Hamilton College goaltender and Lancer alum Gabrielle Venne '18

In the third game of the weekend, the Lancers put together another outstanding performance and skated to a 3-0 win versus Ironbound Elite. This time Hope Crisafi '20 stood tall in net and made 15 saves for the shutout win. Giampietro led the team with two goals and Lexi Nguyen '20 had one.

On Sunday, the Lancers had their fourth and final game of the showcase weekend, playing a very skilled, fast and experienced HTI from Canada. Gilmour was up to the task and made it a very exciting match-up. Apsite was brilliant in net, turning aside 34-of-36 shots. It was a 2-1 game for HTI in the final minutes, and while the Lancers had their chances to even the score, the HTI goalie kept the Lancer offense at bay. The lone GA goal was scored by Aitana Garcia Reynell '20 on an assist by Giampietro.
