The Gilmour girls prep hockey team traveled to Detroit, Mich. for the Two Nations Tournament and competed at both the 19U and 16U levels this past weekend. Both teams faced very tough competition as some of the top teams in Canada were present.

The 19U girls prep team went 1-3-1 earning its lone victory against the San Jose Sharks out of California. The Lancers recorded a 0-0 tie against the Ottawa Lady Grads. Losses were to the Alaska All Stars, Brampton Jr. Canadettes and Team Wisconsin.

A standout performance was given by Kristiana Apsite '20, who had a 53-save shutout vs. Ottawa and additional unbelievable outings in goal versus Brampton and Team Wisconsin. The Lancers were outshot in all of those games, but Apsite stood tall each time. Against Team Wisconsin, she stopped 35-of-36 shots.

In the win against San Jose, Hope Crisafi '20 recorded the shutout. Lancer goals were scored by Alexis Nguyen '20 and Roxee Hughes '20. Assists in that game from Aitana Garcia Reynell '20Bridgit Terry '21Ruby McCall '20 and two from Jenna Salminen '20.

At the 16U level, the team went 2-3 with wins against the Belmont Blazers and the Florida Alliance. A very tough draw in round robin play put the team against four strong Canadian teams. The girls fought very hard in each game and were extremely competitive. Alaina Giampietro '22 had four goals and two assists for a total of six points on the weekend. Cailin Schwarzer '22 totaled three goals. In the win against Belmont, Emma Pickering '23 had one goal and two assists, while Alayna Breivogel '21 got the win in net. Also in the win, Julija Blazinsek '21 recorded a hat trick.
