The varsity girls lacrosse team (4-12) finished the regular season this past week with games against St. Joseph Academy, Solon and Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin. The Lancers lost to SJA on Senior Day, but it was a beautiful day celebrating the six seniors -  Ellie Heller '19Mackenzie Jackson '19Ruby McCall '19Jordan Nolan '19Liv Robida '19 and Mira Soukenik '19

The highlight of the week was Gilmour's exciting overtime victory against visiting Solon in the final home game of the season. The Lancers fought back to tie the score late in the game before winning it in extra time on a goal by Meg Whalen '20 (pictured on the right). Excellent team defense was provided by Robida, Meaghan Bhanoo '22 and Ali Powell '20. Additionally, Kaitlin Grady '20 (pictured on the left) was a key component in the victory with her hustle and ability to come up with the ground balls.

The Lancers lost their final game of the regular season to NDCL. Gilmour welcomed Nolan back to the field for the first time since March after suffering a concussion. She was dominant on attack and connected well with Heller, Sophia Hammond '22 and Grace Belden '20

Gilmour will now begin its postseason journey when it takes on Kenston in the opening round of the OHSAA Division II Region 6 playoffs.
