Several postseason accolades were announced this past week, including the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association (OSSCA) All-Ohio honorees and the News-Herald Girls Soccer All Stars, with Gilmour Academy varsity girls soccer players represented on both lists.

Starting defender Julia Pangonis '21 (pictured on right) was the lone Lancer to be honored by both organizations. She was selected OSSCA Division II First-Team, as well as First Team All-News-Herald. She was joined by starting forward Emma Adams '21, (pictured on left) who was also a News-Herald First Team selection. Rounding out the list of honorees was starting midfielder Molly Boyle '21, who earned News-Herald Honorable Mention status.

First-year Lancer head coach Anton Trifonovs was proud of these young women for being recognized for their on-field efforts this season.

"The Gilmour Academy girls soccer program is more than just a team sport where you need to score more goals to win. It's a program where we are building the culture, educating our minds and empowering our hearts. It's also where we stand by our style of play over the end result. We make no assumptions when it comes to performance recognition. According to data and facts, the selected players were able to stand out with their performances, as well as get to the point where their individual endless efforts helped to lift all of us up. Thank you Cleveland and the Ohio soccer community for recognizing it and selecting our players for these prestigious awards."
