The varsity volleyball team is off to a great start, winning its first two matches of the 2019 campaign. Both wins came against North Coast League (NCL) opponents - Archbishop Hoban and Cleveland Central Catholic, putting Gilmour at 2-0 in the Blue Division. In the opener, top performers included Jocelyn Carter '21 (pictured on the right) with eight kills and 1.5 blocks, Emmy Klika '21 with four aces, two assists and 26 digs, and Anna Rarick '23 (pictured on the left) with one ace, five kills, 21 assists, seven digs and 1.5 blocks. In the second win, Rarick turned in another nice performance with 16 points, including nine aces and Brooke Clair '23 recorded three aces and five kills.

The junior varsity team is off to a 2-3 start this season, earning victories against Columbia and Cleveland Central Catholic. The Lancers are working hard each day and the coaching staff is looking forward to continued improvement throughout the season.

The freshman team lost its first and only match in the opening week of competition. The Lancers battled against Hoban, forcing three games. The coaching staff is pleased with the young players' work ethic and is certain they will be victorious very soon.
