The postseason is officially underway as the district's number-one ranked varsity girls volleyball team earned a 3-0 win against rival Hawken to start its journey. The Lancers received a first-round bye in postseason play, moving right into the OHSAA Division II Gates Mills District Sectional Final. The victory against the rival Hawks earned the Lancers a sectional championship, allowing the team to advance to the district portion of the tournament.
As the postseason continues, various organizations announce award winners. The latest accolades to be released were the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association (OHVCA) District 2 honors. Gilmour had five of its players recognized, including first-team selections Emmy Klika '21 and Brinn MacLellan '21. A pair of second-team honors went to Kathryn Randorf '22 and Jocelyn Carter '21 (pictured on the left), as Katelyn Hanchin '20 (pictured on the right) was tabbed to play in the senior all-star game, while also earning honorable mention status.
