The varsity volleyball team is headed to the Final Four!

The Lancers (21-6) punched their ticket to the OHSAA Division II State Tournament by defeating Canfield High School in the Stow Regional Final game 3-0. Gilmour played a tough series on the neutral court at Stow-Munroe Falls High School, winning all three sets - 25-20, 25-19, 25-22. The victory earned Gilmour the title of regional champions, but more importantly, gave the team the right to advance to the next round. The Lancers head to Wright State University's Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio to take on top-ranked Bishop Fenwick High School (28-1) on Thursday, November 7 at 6 p.m. in the state semifinal game. The winner will play for the DII State Championship on Saturday at 1 p.m. against the winner between No. 5 Holy Name High School and No. 12 Highland High School.

This is the Gilmour volleyball program's 11th appearance in the State Final Four, but it is the team's first at the Division II level. The Lancers most recent trips were in 2015 when the team won the program's first-ever Division III State Championship and in 2016 when they finished in the Final Four. Previously, the team earned five state runner-up finishes at the Division III level (2008, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014).

The Lancers finished their regular season ranked No. 7 in the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association (OHSVCA) poll. See the final poll here.
