The season ended a few weeks ago, but the postseason accolades continue to roll in for the varsity volleyball team. The most recent reveal was by the News-Herald, which announced volleyball All-Stars from its coverage area, spanning all OHSAA divisions.
Gilmour's Kathyrn Randorf '22 (pictured on the left) earned the highest honor - News-Herald Player of the Year - after compiling some of the most impressive statistics in the area. Her averages of four kills per set and 79 total blocks ranked among the best players in the area. With time as both an outside and middle hitter this season, she made a tremendous impact in the front row for the Lancers, serving as a big factor in the team's trip to the OHSAA Division II Final Four. One of her strongest showings of the season was in the state semifinal game against state-champion Bishop Fenwick, during which she recorded 20 kills. Randorf was also named North Coast League (NCL) White Division Offensive Player of the Year, NCL White Division First Team and Second Team All-District.
"I think this is a great honor for her," said Lancer volleyball head coach Danny Coughlin. "We have a lot of great players in the area and for Kathryn to get it shows the hard work she has put in, as well as the growth she has made as a player. She has a great support system in her team and I believe that has really helped her mature and become who she is."

"This is huge for Gilmour Academy volleyball," said Coughlin. "This team worked so hard this season individually on skills and equally just as much on learning and functioning as one unit. All that work paid off for them. I believe had it not been for the entire roster, we would not have been successful as individuals. These kids were and are more focused on team success than they are on individual success and this is what sets them apart to me. This is what stands out and what will allow greater success in the future for GA volleyball."
