The Lancers hosted the 60th annual Paul Primeau Invitational on September 27, welcoming more than 60 area teams in the longest continuously run meet in the state of Ohio.

The varsity boys took the course first and came away with a seventh-place finish out of 15 schools, also finishing as the top Division III team in the field. Bryson Simpson '20 paced the Lancers with a 13th-place finish, followed by Cole Durdella '20 in 21st-place. The younger Lancers built off their strong races at Boardman, with Scott Vergilii '23 (56th), Alexander Beedles '22 (66th), Will Kay '23 (pictured on the right) (68th) and Justin Wen (69th) all moving up in the last mile to pass a number of teams in the standings.

The girls ran next and came away with runner-up honors out of 18 teams. Running smart tactical races on their home course, the Lancers were again paced by the trio of Caitrina Barton '21 (seventh), Mary Lombardo '22 (ninth) and Kaitlin Rulison '23 (16th). The rest of the Gilmour pack impressed as well, with Mia Polisena '22 (38th) and Sophia Garofalo '21 (39th) moving up over the last half-mile to seal the second-place cup. Nina Padanilam '22 (pictured on the left) (84th) and Edith Tomasek '23 (107th) rounded out the scoring.
