Nicole Kappenhagen is in her first year as Gilmour's figure skating coordinator in the 2023-24 school year. In this role, she leads the figure skating club and freestyle program.
Kappenhagen skated competitively for 13 years and was a member of the Goldenettes Senior Synchronized team, who were national champions in 1990 and Silver Medalists in both 1989 and 1991. She has been a member of the Professional Skaters Association for 29 years. She has a PSA Registered group/free skate rating and a PSA Master Moves in the field Rating. She Attends PSA and USFS conferences, seminars and workshops yearly to continue her education as a coach. Kappenhagen has helped several skaters pass their Senior Moves in the Field and Free Skate tests, helping them to become Gold Medalists in the sport.
