The storied season for the varsity boys baseball team continues, this week with a trip to the OHSAA Division II state tournament. The Lancers already made history this season by compiling an 18-game winning streak, winning its inaugural season in the North Coast League (NCL) with an undefeated White Division record of 10-0, and earning sectional and district championships. This past week, Gilmour earned only the second regional championship in program history after defeating Benedictine High School 13-6. The first such championship was won in 2008, just one year prior to Head Coach Jay Fowler '00 taking over the program.

Now the Lancers are in the Final Four, with just two wins standing between them and the program's first-ever state championship. The state semifinal game is Saturday, June 7 at 10 a.m. at Canal Park, which is home to the Rubber Ducks minor league baseball team in Akron, Ohio. Gilmour plays St. Clairsville in a state semifinal game. The other semifinal game features Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School from Dayton and Van Wert High School at 1 p.m. The winners of each game will play on Sunday, June 8 at 4 p.m. at Canal Park for the state championship.

Tickets for all games are $8 and will be sold on location one hour prior to the scheduled start time. No presale tickets are available.
