Title: Assistant Coach - Varsity

David Ianiro is in his sixth year as a member of the Gilmour Academy baseball coaching staff in the 2022 season. After spending the previous five seasons as head coach of the reserve team, Ianiro took over as the head junior varsity coach prior to the 2022 season. Ianiro also serves as an assistant with varsity team.

Ianiro is a 2010 graduate of Mayfield High School where he was a member of the Wildcats varsity baseball team. He continued his playing career at the collegiate level at Bluffton University, earning Second-Team All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors as an outfielder his senior year. He also set two program records as a closer for the Beavers’ pitching staff, including most saves in a season with nine (2014) and most saves in a career with 12 (2011-14). Both records remain intact entering the 2022 season.

Ianiro graduated from Bluffton in 2014 with a degree in early childhood education and child development. He is currently employed as a physical education teacher and athletic director at the Mandel Jewish Day School.
