Joe Ryzner is in his 14th year as a member of the Gilmour Academy baseball coaching staff. He will serve as an assistant coach for the varsity team in 2022 after spending the 13 previous seasons as the head junior varsity coach.

Ryzner has directed the Lancers to 10 winning seasons during his time with the program, which began in 2009 under the late, legendary coach Ray Sharnsky. Ryzner led Gilmour to a career-best 16-3 record, with an 11-game winning streak, in 2014 and guided the Lancers to a 16-3-1 mark during the 2021 season.

Ryzner is a 2002 graduate of Benedictine High School where he was a three-year letterwinner in baseball. He spent two years on the varsity football team and one each with the varsity golf and bowling teams. He currently resides in South Euclid, Ohio, and is a legal assistant for Kelley & Ferraro, LLP, working alongside Gilmour varsity baseball head coach John Murphy ’88.
