Title: Assistant Coach - Varsity (Hitting)

Bill Schneider ’95 has been involved with Gilmour Academy since he enrolled as a seventh grade student in 1989. He is currently in his 29th season as an assistant coach with the 2024 season.

Schneider’s relationship with the Lancer baseball program dates to when he was a three-year member of the Lancer varsity team. He served as a captain his senior season and played on the team that made a regional appearance in 1994.

Schneider then began coaching with the Lancers in 1996 – one year after graduating from the school. As an assistant, he has helped the program to nine regional appearances, qualifying in 1997, 1999, 2008, 2009, 2014, 2015, 2019, 2021 and 2023. He was also on the coaching staff for the teams that set the GA record for wins in a season (25) in both 2008 and 2019, which included a record 18 consecutive wins in the latter season. Additionally, Schneider helped the Lancers to a Division III State Final Four appearance in 2008 and a Division II State Runner-Up finish in 2019.

Schneider graduated from John Carroll University with a bachelor’s degree in communication and marketing in 2000. He currently runs the Fioritto Funeral Service with his mother, Donna Marie Fioritto-Tamburro and his uncle, Mario Fioritto, Jr. He has been a volunteer for the West Side Catholic Center, Holy Angels Church, St. John Vianney, St. Francis of Assisi, the Church of St. Clare and various other churches. Schneider is also an avid golfer and has been a member of Walden Country Club in Aurora since 2005.
