The Lancer varsity gymnastics team competed in the OHSAA sectional meet this past weekend. The squad dealt with some adversity early on, but powered through to finish the meet on a high note. Maddie Grebelny '20 competed on a sprained ankle and, despite the injury, still managed to turn in an impressive routine on the beam. Clare Peterson '23 and Brinn MacLellan '21 recorded some quality performances as well. Sophia Giancola '20 had a self-admitted "very rough start on bars," but was able to refocus and give strong efforts on the vault and beam, earning a sectional championship for both. Those performances earned her the right to move on to the district level in those events, along with the floor and all-around. She is the lone district qualifier from Gilmour.
