- The Gilmour Academy varsity boys basketball team claimed a 65-53 victory over Kenston High School this past week
- The game was part of the Northeast Ohio Youth Elite Christmas Classic that was held at Garfield Heights High School
- Brandon Rose '23 earned Game MVP honors in the victory
- Rose finished with 22 points, on 9-of-15 shooting, along with game highs in rebounds (9) and steals (5)
- Ryan Mueller '22 notched 20 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in the win
- Adisa Molton II '23 added 10 points, on 4-of-6 shooting, along with six assists and two steals
- The Lancers jumped out to an early lead and led from start to finish
- Gilmour outscored Kenston 17-4 in the first quarter and led 35-19 at the half
- The Bombers used a big third quarter and eventually cut their deficit to just two points
- Gilmour pulled away down the stretch, scoring 19 fourth-quarter points, to claim the win
- Gilmour shot 51.9% from the field compared to 40.7% for Kenston
- The Lancers had a huge 48-26 advantage in points in the paint
- Gilmour also had an 18-6 edge in points off turnovers
- Dorjan Flowers '23 tied for game-high honors with six assists
- After two post-Christmas postponements, the Lancers will return to the court Sunday, Jan. 2, when they travel to Euclid High School to compete in the Scholastic Play-By-Play Classic
