- The Gilmour Academy varsity boys basketball team will open play in the District round of the OHSAA Tournament this week
- The Lancers will face Shaw High School in a District semifinal Thursday, March 3, at the North Ridgeville Academic Center Athletic Complex
- Due to its strong regular season, Gilmour had earned a first-round bye in the state tournament
- The Lancers then dispatched of Collinwood High School 79-27 in their sectional final
- All 15 Lancers played against the Railroaders with 12 of the 15 finding the scoring column
- Ryan Mueller '22 scored a game-high 17 points while adding a game-high five steals
- Brandon Rose '23 tallied a double-double, posting 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds
- Adisa Molton II '23 added 11 points and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe
- Dorjan Flowers '23 notched eight points and a game-high six assists
- Nathan Nootbaar '22 finished with six points and eight boards
- Nathan Flaherty '22 and Andy Kavcic '24 each posted six points
- Gilmour opened up a 23-10 lead after the first quarter and led by double digits the rest of the way
- The Lancers racked up 24 steals, forcing 28 turnovers in all, and had a 40-8 lead in points off turnovers
- Gilmour also held Collinwood to 22.4 percent shooting, including an 0-for-14 mark from downtown
- Gilmour's matchup with Shaw will be its first under head coach Dan DeCrane
- The other semifinal in the North Ridgeville District featured Buchtel High School against Akron East High School
