Gilmour Wins Regional, Headed to Final Four
  • The Gilmour Academy varsity boys basketball team won the Bowling Green Regional title this past weekend
  • With their two Regional wins, Gilmour advances to the OHSAA Division II Final Four
  • Gilmour will face Waverly High School in the state semifinals Friday, March 18, at 8:30 p.m. at University of Dayton Arena
  • It marks Gilmour's second Final Four berth in program history and the first in exactly 30 years
  • The Lancers' Regional final victory improved their mark to 22-5 this season
  • The 22 wins broke the school record for single-season wins that was originally set in 1963-64
  • Gilmour posted a 62-35 win over St. Mary's Memorial High School in the Regional final
  • The Lancers had opened up a 28-17 lead at the half
  • Gilmour then dominated the third quarter, outscoring Memorial 23-8 to secure the win
  • Brandon Rose '23 had a game-high 29 points while adding seven rebounds
  • Rose shot an incredible 11-of-14 from the field, including 4-of-5 from downtown
  • Ryan Mueller '22 tallied 10 points, eight rebounds and three assists
  • Adisa Molton II '23 posted nine points and a game-high eight assists for Gilmour
  • Dorjan Flowers '23 contributed six assists, three rebounds and a team-high three steals
  • Gilmour's hot shooting continued as it made 60 percent (24-of-40) of its attempts from the floor
  • The Lancers were also 8-of-14 from distance (57.1%)
  • Gilmour had claimed a 65-54 victory over Toledo Central Catholic High School in the Regional semifinal
  • The Lancers scored the first 10 points of the game and led by 12 at the end of the opening quarter (19-7)
  • Although TCC cut its deficit to seven by halftime, the Fighting Irish never truly threatened to take the lead in the second half
  • Rose tied for game-high honors with 16 points while adding six boards and three steals
  • Nathan Flaherty '22 had 12 points in just 11 minutes of action as he shot 3-of-4 from three
  • Molton barely missed a double-double as he tallied nine points and a game-high nine assists
  • Mueller added nine points and a game-high eight rebounds
  • Flowers finished with eight points, five assists and three thefts
  • Gilmour shot 56.8 percent from the field while holding TCC to a 39.6 percent mark
  • The win over TCC was Gilmour's second straight over an Associated Press Top-10 team
  • While this will be Gilmour's first Final Four appearance in 30 years, GA has now made the Elite Eight in consecutive seasons for the first time in program history
