The Gilmour Academy varsity boys golf team began its postseason journey this week by competing in the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division III Northeast Sectional Tournament. The Lancers headed to Pine Hills Golf Club in Hinckley with 13 other teams. The Lancers put together a strong team showing with a score of 314, which bettered its closest opponent by 40 strokes, earning them the honor of sectional champions. Liam Ottaway '21 led Gilmour with a score of 73 (34, 39) to finish as the overall medalist. Alex Swinarski '22 was close behind with a 74 (36, 38) to finish second overall. Additional Lancer scores included Parker Barrett '24 (83) (pictured on the right), Jack Popovich '22 (84) (pictured on the left) and Harry Rogers '22 (87).

The Lancers will now head to the district tournament on October 5, which will be played at Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance. Gilmour competed on that course back in early August, recording a team score of 311 to finish second out of 12 in the Tannenhauf Invitational.
