Jamey Polak is in his fifth year as a coach with the Gilmour Academy boys golf program. The 2021-22 season marks his fourth year as the head coach of the varsity team after previously serving as the varsity assistant coach for one season under then-head coach and mentor, Bob Lewis.

Polak has helped continue the strong Lancer tradition in the sport of boys golf as he has led Gilmour to OHSAA state tournament appearances in each of the past two seasons. GA took third place in the state in 2020, a three-spot improvement from their showing in 2019. As an assistant in 2017, Polak helped the Lancers to a state runner-up showing.

Polak has more than 20 years of golf industry experience in a variety of areas including retail, caddie master and outside service management, as well as golf fitness for which he is certified through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) program.

Prior to coaching at Gilmour, he spent a total of five seasons coaching boys basketball at his alma mater, Streetsboro High School, and spent one season as an assistant coach for the men's basketball team at Notre Dame College. He then spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the Gilmour junior varsity boys basketball team, as well as two as the head coach of the team.

The Streetsboro, Ohio, native earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Notre Dame in 2011 and was employed as a social studies teacher at Gilmour from 2012-2021. He currently resides in Chardon, Ohio, with his wife of 13 years, Jennifer, and their two children, Charlotte and Joshua.
