The 16-U Lancer boys hockey team welcomed the Pittsburgh Icemen 16-U AAA team to Gates Mills this past weekend. The two teams met up earlier this year in Valencia, Pa. with Gilmour falling short 4-3 and then tying 2-2 in the two-game series.

 

Gilmour opened the home series with strong team play and posted a 4-1 win. Then in the nightcap, the Lancers took a step back. Gilmour was outshot 30-20 and ended up on the losing end of the 4-1 final.

 

"We learned a valuable lesson," said assistant coach Gordon Glass. "Preparation and hard work bring success. Without it, wins are elusive."
