It was another exciting week for the Gilmour boys 16-U hockey team. The Lancers took on Saint Edward High School's JV team on the road midweek and came away with an impressive 7-1 victory.

Gilmour then finished the week in Castle Shannon, Pa., with a two-game series against Tier 1 Pittsburgh Predators AAA. Assistant Coach Gordon Glass referred to the series as a "true test of the team's talent."

The morning game saw the Predators take an early 6-3 lead. But as soon as the second period took off, so did the Lancers, unleashing an onslaught of scoring. Gilmour led 9-7 late in the game before surrendering one final goal to hang on for a 9-8 win.

In the afternoon game, the Lancers came out a bit flat and lost 6-3 in a disappointing showing considering the talent displayed in the day's opener.

Overall, in the eight games against Tier1 AAA Pennsylvania rivals this season, Gilmour is 2-5-1.

"All of the games were competitive and are reflective of the growing strength of the program," said Glass.
