- The Gilmour Academy Varsity A hockey team went 3-1 this past weekend
- The Lancers were competing at the Father Styles MLK Showcase hosted by Saint Ignatius High School
- The Lancers lost 1-0 in their first game of the event to St. Francis High School's (N.Y.) Prep team
- Despite the setback, GA was highly competitive in a game against an opponent in the same league as Gilmour's boys prep team
- Gilmour claimed a 6-0 victory over St. Charles Preparatory School Saturday morning
- Matthew Bauman '23 and Justin Wen '23 both scored twice in the win
- Viktor Povozhaev '23 and Jakub Sedlacik '22 each added a goal
- Evan Underwood '23 earned the win in goal as GA shut out the No. 9 team in the state
- Later in the day, Gilmour posted a 2-1 win over St. Viator High School (Ill.)
- The Lancers trailed 1-0 after two periods but scored two goals late in the contest to flip the script
- Luke Radke '23 tallied the tying goal and Rocco Hice '23 notched the game-winner
- Ian Anderson '22 earned the win in goal with a strong effort
- Gilmour finished its weekend with another comeback win, this one a 4-2 victory against Upper Arlington High School
- The Lancers used three goals in quick succession late in the second period to surge to a 3-1 lead
- Povozhaev scored twice while Hice and Aidan Priestley '22 each found the net once
- Underwood earned his second win in goal of the weekend
- Both St. Viator and Upper Arlington were ranked among the top five teams in their respective states entering the tournament
- Gilmour has now won seven of its last eight games, six of which have come away from home
- With their recent success, the Lancers have moved up to No. 5 in the state rankings
- Gilmour will resume action with a trio of games this weekend, including two league contests
- The Lancers will face Walsh Jesuit High School, Saint Ignatius High School and University School
