- The Lancers defeated Walsh Jesuit High School 3-2 in triple overtime in a Kent District semifinal
- With the win, Gilmour advances to the District final, the Elite Eight of OHSAA hockey
- The Lancers will face Mentor High School in the District final Friday, March 4, at Kent State Ice Arena
- Shea Hofstrom '22 scored the game-winning goal against Walsh in the third overtime session
- Connor Underwood '22 and Viktor Povozhaev '23 provided the assists
- Jack Popovich '22 scored Gilmour's first goal, assisted by Hofstrom
- Justin Wen '23 scored GA's second goal with Brennen O'Neill '23 providing an assist
- Gilmour outshot Walsh 50-20 over the course of the game
- Ian Anderson '22 made 18 saves to earn the win in goal
- Gilmour went 4-0 against Walsh this season, with each of the final three wins being one-goal affairs
- Gilmour had tallied a pair of lopsided wins in its playoff openers to reach the District semifinal
- The Lancers beat Mayfield High School 11-1 before topping Solon High School 16-2
- Underwood and Popovich each scored twice in the win over the Wildcats
- Povozhaev and Aidan Priestley '22 both had hat tricks against the Comets
- Evan Underwood '23 claimed the win in goal in both matchups
- This is the third time in the past four seasons that GA has made the District final
- This will be the fifth consecutive season in which Gilmour has faced Mentor in the postseason
- The teams have split the previous four meetings, with three of the four being one-goal games
- Gilmour is 14-2 in its past 16 games, dating to mid-January
