The Gilmour Academy 16-U boys hockey team won the Gilmour Holiday Tournament that it hosted this past weekend at the Floyd E. Stefanski Ice Center.
- Gilmour posted a perfect 5-0 record on the weekend to win the event
- The Lancers outscored their opposition by a combined 29-10 margin over the weekend
- Gilmour posted wins over Blyth Academy (7-2) and the Pittsburgh Predators (5-3) on Friday
- The Lancers claimed victories over A21 Academy (6-0) and the PHA Icemen (6-2) on Saturday
- Gilmour rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the championship game to claim a 5-3 victory over the Predators
- Vaughn Pongonis '23 was named Tournament MVP for leading the team with 11 points on the weekend
- Johnny Maruna '24 scored twice in Friday's win over the Predators and in the win over A21 Academy
- Sam Luan '24 scored twice in the win over Blyth and Nick Sinani '23 had two goals in the win over PHA
- Nate Grant '23 and Connor Varmecky '24 both posted multiple wins in goal on the weekend
- Gilmour has now won 22 of its past 28 games dating to mid-October
- The Lancers will now take time off for the holidays before returning to action Jan. 7-9 when they host Bishop's College School
