Lancers Win on Senior Night, Set for Mid-Am Tourney
  • The Gilmour Academy boys prep hockey team claimed a 4-2 victory over the Cleveland Barons 18-U AAA team this past weekend
  • Gilmour celebrated Senior Night alongside the game as it was GA's final contest of the regular season
  • Prior to and after the win, Gilmour recognized its 18 seniors in an on-ice ceremony
  • The following Lancer seniors were honored as their parents and school administrators joined to celebrate their achievements: Camden Bajzer '22, Matiss Bars '22, Julian Beaumont '22, Liam Clarke '22, Aidan Cosgrove '22, Logan Cuvo '22, Nathan Dowling '22, Hunter Fetterolf '22, Hadyn Gould '22, Nicholas Guberman '22, Matthew Johnson '22, Davis Longlade '22, Dawson Lukey '22, Dalton Mayes '22, Kyle Mead '22, Simon Rokhlin '22, Vincent Stafford '22, Max Treppo '22
  • In a fitting turn of events, all four Lancers goals were scored by seniors
  • Beaumont opened the scoring to give Gilmour a 1-0 lead after the first period
  • Guberman and Mead each scored in the second to stake Gilmour to a 3-0 lead after two periods
  • Fetterolf added an insurance tally in the third as Gilmour held on for the victory
  • The win gave Gilmour a 36-24 overall record entering March
  • By virtue of its strong regular season, Gilmour qualified for the Mid-American District Tournament
  • The four-day tournament begins Thursday, March 3, in suburban Pittsburgh
  • Each of the six participating teams will play one round robin game each on Thursday, Friday and Saturday
  • After the round robin games, the top two seeded teams will play for the championship Sunday afternoon
  • The winner of the Mid-Am District Tournament will earn an automatic berth to the USA Hockey National Tournament
