Tim Veach is in his fifth season with the Gilmour Academy hockey program for the 2021-22 school year, where he has served as the head coach of the 16-U team for multiple seasons as well as an assistant with the boys prep team. The USA Hockey Level 4 coach has more than a decade of coaching experience, which includes time at the high school and collegiate levels, as well as youth hockey.

Veach’s coaching career began at his college alma mater, the University of Kansas, where he served as an assistant coach for the ACHA Jayhawks from 2006-10.

Veach moved on to West Allegheny High School in 2010. In his four seasons as the head varsity coach, he directed the team to several championships including PIHL 1-AA champions (2011, 2012), PIHL Class AA regular season champions (2012), PIHL Class AA playoff champions (2012) and Pennsylvania State Class AA Finalists (2012). From there he went to Pittsburgh Penguins Elite AAA and spent time as both a head and assistant coach from 2013-17.

Veach made the move to Gilmour Academy in 2017 and has been with the Lancers ever since. He directed the 16-U team to Ohio JV State Championships in both 2018 and 2019.

Veach earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism while playing for the University of Kansas and serving as a team captain his junior and senior seasons. He then earned a master’s degree in instructional leadership and sports management from Robert Morris University (2012).

The Pittsburgh, Pa., native currently resides in Gates Mills, Ohio. In addition to coaching, he is the coordinator of youth hockey, camps and clinics at Gilmour Academy.
