Beedles Named All-Ohio

Gilmour Academy boys soccer standout Alexander Beedles '22 was recently selected as an All-Ohio honoree by the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association.

Beedles was named All-Ohio Second Team at forward by the votes of coaches statewide. He also was named All-News Herald First Team and All-Greater Cleveland First Team after his sensational senior season.

Beedles finished with 21 goals and six assists in the 19-game season. He directly factored into 27 of the team's 38 goals on the season, being involved more than 71 percent of the time. Beedles' speed and technical ability on the ball allowed him to time and again create offensive opportunities seemingly out of nowhere.

One of Beedles' more memorable goals of the season came late in the match at Walsh Jesuit High School. His strike lifted GA to a 1-0 win and gave the Lancers only their second win over Walsh in program history. One of his more memorable performances came when he tallied all four goals in a 4-2 win over Andrews Osborne Academy on Senior Night. Beedles also added two goals and two assists in a win at Keystone High School.

John Stack '23 was named All-Greater Cleveland Second Team and also was named to the News Herald's postseason Honor Roll list.

Stack was a defensive leader for the Lancers and also chipped in offensively with a pair of assists. His defensive efforts helped Gilmour post a shutout in a playoff contest against Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School.

Four Lancers were tabbed All-Greater Cleveland Honorable Mention: Michael Giancola '23, Kyle Laws '22, Andrew Minder '24 and Carter Richmond '25.

Richmond and Laws were second and third on the team in points, respectively. The two tied for team-high honors with seven assists each with the former scoring five times and the latter knocking in four goals.

Giancola and Minder were both key contributors to the Lancer defensive unit this past season.
