The varsity boys tennis team went into the postseason this past week for the sectional singles and doubles tournament. The event is a must-win situation in order to advance in the bracket. Gilmour bowed out of the tournament in the first round of all three singles matches, as well as in one of their doubles matches. However, the dynamic doubles duo of Sam Sullivan '19 (pictured on the right) and Robert Sullivan '22 (pictured on the left) remained victorious throughout sectional competition in order to advance to the district portion of the tournament. The pair defeated Conneaut, 6-0, 6-0; West Geauga 6-0, 6-2; and Geneva 6-1, 6-4. The brothers then lost to Hawken 2-6, 7-5, 3-6, as well as 6-3, 4-6, 3-6 in the seeding portion of the tournament. They are now the number-four seed for the district tournament that will begin on May 17 at the Springside Racquet & Fitness Club in Akron.
