Track & Field: Lew Speece Invite Results; Palinksi Sets School Record

The track & field team recently competed in the Lew Speece Invitational hosted by Western Reserve High School in Berlin Center. The girls team finished third out of 17 teams and the boys team took third out of 18 teams. MacKenzie Palinski '21 (pictured on the right) set a school record in the shot put with a throw of 34 feet, 7 and 1/4 inches to earn fourth place. She also had a sixth-place finish in the discus. Annika Corcoran '19 earned meet Co-Jumps Most Valuable Player honors after winning the long jump. Karah Henderson '22 set a meet record in the 100 hurdles with her first-place time of 15.37 seconds. She also won the 100. Additional highlights included Kaleigh McNamara '22 finishing fourth in the 200 and fifth in the 400, along with Madeleine Finotti '21 earning sixth place in the long jump.

For the boys, Andre Rodgers '21 (pictured on the left) earned meet Sprint Most Valuable Player honors after winning the 100 and 200, then taking third in the long jump and running the lead-off leg in the second place 4x400 relay. Tyler Clark '19 ran to a first-place finish in the 800, while taking second in the 3200 with the top time in Ohio in Division III with a time of 9:42. Other top performances for the Lancers included Nathan Reichard '20 finishing fourth in the 400 and Craig Wilson '20 finishing sixth in the event.
