The varsity softball team went 3-0 this past week defeating North Coast League (NCL) opponents Cleveland Central Catholic (15-5), Trinity (9-5) and John F. Kennedy Catholic School (19-2). The CCC game was the first NCL game in program history. Maggie Goff '21 earned the win after striking out three. Megan Mlinaric '22 turned in a solid performance in relief, striking out seven in a little more than three innings of work. Sophia Cira '21 (pictured on the left) had three hits with a double, three RBI and two stolen bases.

The Trinity game was a battle as both teams fought until the last out of the game. After being tied at three, the Lancers plated four runs in the top of the fifth before adding two more the following inning. Mlinaric went the distance to earn the W with 12 strikeouts. Frankie Coan '20 (pictured on the right) had two hits and three RBI, while Emmy Klika '21 had two hits, two runs, one RBI and one stolen base.

In the final game of the week, the Lancers run-ruled JFK. Klika led the offensive charge with four hits that included three doubles and a triple. She totaled eight RBI and three runs. Coan, Julia Beaven '19 and Abby Bartlett '19 also had two hits each, while Coan took the mound for the first time in her playing career. She struck out three and gave up just three hits in her historic debut.

The Lancers moved to 3-0 in the NCL and 4-3 overall.
