Five Lancers Earn All-District Honors

Five members of the Gilmour Academy girls basketball team earned recognition recently with individual accolades.

Five Lancers were named to the Northeast Lakes All-District Team, with the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association selecting the honorees.

Lauryn Stover '22 was named All-District Second Team while Megan Duffy '21, Cooper Flowers '22, Nicci Finazzo '24 and Katie Puletti '24 each earned Honorable Mention recognition.

Stover led the Lancers in scoring this past season, averaging 10.3 points per game, while also finishing second on the team with 139 total rebounds. She was also second on the team in blocks (26) and third in steals (51), while adding 21 assists on the year.

Duffy was far and away the leading distributor on the team, leading the Lancers with 114 assists on the season. She was also second on the team with 59 steals while finishing with 123 total points and 87 rebounds on the campaign.

Flowers led the team in both rebounds (209) and blocks (36) this season. She was second on the team in scoring, averaging 8.4 points per game, while adding 43 steals and 17 assists.

Finazzo led the team in steals with 67 in her debut high school season. She was also second on the team with 63 assists and was among the top three Lancers in both scoring (7.4 ppg) and three-point field goals made (17).

Puletti led the team in free throw percentage, hitting 71 percent of her attempts, which helped her produce 164 total points on the season. She was third on the team in both rebounds (89) and assists (37) and also finished with 38 steals on the season.

Gilmour's varsity girls team finished with an overall record of 16-9 in the 2020-21 season. The Lancers advanced to the District Final before coming up short to an eventual state qualifier.

Gilmour's junior varsity squad posted a 16-5 mark on the season and won five of its final six games to close the campaign.
