- The Gilmour Academy varsity girls basketball team claimed a come-from-behind 54-51 win over Copley High School inside Lancer Gymnasium this past week
- Nicci Finazzo '24 led Gilmour with 16 points and also played great defense to help GA prevail down the stretch
- Finazzo shot 6-of-8 from the floor and added four steals and three rebounds
- Angelina Lonardo '22 had 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field, including 2-of-2 from downtown
- Cooper Flowers '22 led Gilmour with nine rebounds and tallied eight points and three assists
- Madeline Martino '22 led Gilmour in steals (5) and assists (4) and added four rebounds
- Gilmour came out of the gates on fire, opening up an 11-0 lead just over two minutes in
- Copley came storming back though and took its first lead early in the second quarter
- Gilmour held a slim 31-30 lead at the half, but Copley had a 42-39 lead after three quarters
- Copley had a 49-44 lead with under five minutes to play, but the Lancers closed the game on a 10-2 run
- Finazzo's coast-to-coast driving layup gave Gilmour a 52-51 lead with just 54 seconds to play
- Grace Terranova '22 hit two clutch free throws with nine seconds left to help seal the win
- Gilmour's junior varsity team also came from behind to post a 46-42 victory over Copley
- Maddie Minotas '24 led Gilmour with 19 points
- Elaina Kline-Ruminski '25 had 12 points while Kelsey O'Toole '24 added seven
- The Lancers trailed by 11 points in the final minute of the first half but rallied to claim the win
- With its post-Christmas game postponed, Gilmour will resume action Jan. 5 at Lutheran High School East
