- The Gilmour Academy varsity girls basketball team cruised to a victory on Senior Day this past Saturday
- The Lancers claimed a 67-24 win over Andrews Osborne Academy
- Prior to its win, Gilmour recognized its seven seniors with an on-court ceremony
- The following Lancer seniors were honored as their parents and school administrators joined to celebrate their achievements: Cooper Flowers '22, Karah Henderson '22, Angelina Lonardo '22, Giana Lonardo '22, Madeline Martino '22, Lauryn Stover '22 and Grace Terranova '22
- With Flowers out due to an injury, all six seniors that played reached the scoring column
- Stover put forth a big effort on Senior Day as she posted a double-double
- She finished with 24 points, on 9-of-12 shooting from the floor, along with 10 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks
- Martino was second on the team in both points and rebounds and barely missed a double-double
- She posted 13 points, on a 5-for-7 mark from the field, as well as nine boards, three steals and two blocks
- Angelina Lonardo had eight points and two steals and shot 3-of-5 from the field
- Giana Lonardo tallied seven points, including a three-pointer
- Terranova had a team-high six assists and also chipped in with five points
- Henderson added three points, four rebounds and a steal
- Gilmour shot 55.8 percent (24-for-43) from the field as a team and only committed eight turnovers
- Gilmour's junior varsity team was also victorious Saturday
- The Lancer JV team claimed a 42-30 win over Lutheran High School East
- Elaina Kline-Ruminski '25 led the Lancers with 20 points
- Maddie Minotas '24 and Kelsey O'Toole '24 chipped in with 10 and six points, respectively
- Gilmour will be back in action Monday, Feb. 7, as it hosts John Hay High School
