After a trip on the road to Michigan, the Lancer girls prep team had the chance to host top-level competition at Floyd E. Stefanski Ice Center over the weekend.
The homestay proved to be one of Gilmour's best stretches of games this season, as the prep team went 4-0 and defeated top-level competition. The Lancers first hosted Little Caesars 19U in two games, and defeated the Michigan-based team in a pair of thrilling overtime victories (3-2, 3-2). Alayna Toole '22 scored the game winner in the team's first overtime victory, and Alayna Breivogel '21 earned the win in the net. The Lancers had an incredible defensive effort as a team in the second 3-2 overtime win, led by Lea Morrissette '22 in goal.
Next, Gilmour hosted Hoosac School and earned two commanding victories (5-0, 6-1). Allison Schuh '23 had a shutout in the net during the first game, while Julija Blazinek '21 and Quinn Hartmetz '21 both scored two goals. Ziya Damas '23 also added a goal for the Lancers. In the team's 6-1 win, Blazinek earned a hat trick, scoring three of the team's goals against Hoosac.
