- The Gilmour Academy girls prep hockey team continued its fantastic start to 2022 this past weekend
- The Lancers won the Northwood School Invitational, posting an undefeated 5-0 record in the event
- The tournament took place at the Lake Placid Olympic Center in Lake Placid, N.Y.
- Gilmour began the event with a 9-0 whitewashing of Rice Prep
- Caroline Sever '25 scored her first-career goal for GA's prep team in the win
- Allison Schuh '23 claimed the shutout in goal
- The Lancers then claimed a 3-2 victory, via a shootout, over Northwood School Prep
- Alaina Giampietro '22 and Cailin Schwarzer '22 each scored in regulation
- Giampietro then scored the walk-off goal in the shootout
- Maggie Hatch '22 earned the win in goal for the Lancers
- Gilmour finished out their seeding games with a 2-1 victory over Nichols School Prep
- Giampietro and Schwarzer each scored once in the victory
- Schuh earned her second win in goal of the weekend against Nichols
- The Lancers then claimed a 7-1 victory over Shady Side Academy Prep in the tournament semifinals
- Hatch and Schuh split time in goal in the win over Shady Side
- Gilmour had a rematch against host school Northwood in the tournament's championship game
- The game remained scoreless throughout regulation and headed to sudden-death overtime
- Giampietro played the hero as she scored the game-winning goal late in the overtime session
- Her winning goal was an incredible play, featuring superb stick handling around multiple defenders before ripping a wrist shot high into the net
- Hatch put forth a fantastic effort in goal to earn the shutout
- The tournament also served as a North American Prep Hockey Association league weekend
- With their five wins, Gilmour improved to 7-0 in conference play this season
- Gilmour is riding an eight-game winning streak, its second winning streak of at least eight games this season
- The Lancers improved to 41-12-1 overall this season with their five wins last weekend
- Gilmour's 41 wins are currently the highest figure among all 19-U Tier I teams in the country
- Gilmour will host a three-game series this weekend against Little Caesars, the top-ranked team in the nation
