- The Gilmour Academy girls prep hockey team claimed a 4-1 victory over the Hockey Training Institute Stars this past Friday
- Gilmour celebrated Senior Day alongside the game as it was GA's final contest of the regular season
- Prior to the win, Gilmour recognized its 10 seniors in an on-ice ceremony
- The following Lancer seniors were honored as their parents and school administrators joined to celebrate their achievements: Alexandra Brandt '22, Allie Carson, Maggie Dean '22, Alaina Giampietro '22, Maggie Hatch '22, Lea Morrissette '22, Kaitlyn Schooley '22, Cailin Schwarzer '22, Taylor Stirling '22 and Alayna Toole '22
- After a scoreless first period, Giampietro opened the scoring with a goal midway through the second period
- The Lancers gained some breathing room by scoring three times in the third and held on for the win
- Giampietro, Emma Pickering '23 and Stirling found the net in the final frame
- The Senior Day win improved GA's record to 50-17-2
- The 50 wins are believed to represent a school record for the most in a single season
- Gilmour, who won the Mid-American District title on the first weekend of March, will prepare for the USA Hockey National Tournament for the next two weeks
- The 2022 USA Hockey Nationals will feature 16 teams and take place March 31 – April 4 in Pittsburgh
- Gilmour will contest three round-robin games, with the schedule set to be announced in the near future
