Erin Song is in her fifth season as the head coach of the Gilmour Academy varsity girls lacrosse team with the 2020-21 school year. During her time at the helm of the program, she has helped grow participation from 20 student-athletes in her first season, to a roster of nearly 60 with the most recent season. With this increase, the school was able to add a full junior varsity schedule to the Lancer Athletics resume.

Song has been coaching since the mid 2000s, spending time as an assistant swim coach at the collegiate level with NCAA Division III Bethany College, NCAA Division II Bloomsburg University, NCAA Division I United States Naval Academy and NCAA Division I American University for a combined seven years. Additionally, she was the head women’s lacrosse coach at Bloomsburg, directing the team to a 2012 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship, while earning PSAC Coach of the Year honors that same year.

The Lansdale, Pa., native, was a successful student-athlete at North Penn High School. She was a four-year varsity water polo player, serving as team captain her senior year. A four-year varsity swimmer, she earned All-State and was a state qualifier and team captain as a senior. She also played three years of varsity lacrosse.

Song continued her athletic career at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, swimming distance all four years, in addition to playing two years of water polo and two years of lacrosse as a defender. At IUP, she was a psychology major with a minor in educational psychology. She went on to earn a Master of Science in athletic coaching education from West Virginia University and a Master of Education in school counseling from Bloomsburg University.

She currently resides in Pepper Pike, Ohio, with her husband, Danny, and their three sons, Chris (4), JP (2) and newborn Adam. She is employed by Gilmour Academy as a third year Upper School counselor, after previously being a Physical Education teacher for the Lower and Middle Schools for two years.
