Robert Harrison was named as the head coach of Gilmour’s varsity girls soccer program in July 2021.

Prior to Gilmour, Harrison helped build the Twinsburg High School girls program into a perennial contender in the area soccer scene. He had served as a varsity assistant for the preceding eight seasons with the Tigers as well as the junior varsity head coach for the past six.

During Harrison’s time on the varsity staff, Twinsburg compiled an overall record of 105-27-19 (.758). The Tigers compiled double-digit wins on seven occasions, including a combined 48 in the past three years alone.

After having not won a playoff game in the two years prior to his arrival, Harrison helped Twinsburg to its best postseason successes in program history over his final four seasons.

In 2018, Twinsburg won five consecutive playoff games, outscoring its opponents 15-1, to reach the state semifinals for the first time in school history. The Tigers advanced to the OHSAA Regionals in 2020 before bowing out to the eventual Division I state champion. Twinsburg also advanced to OHSAA District Finals in both 2017 and 2019, with the 2017 appearance marking the farthest the Tigers had advanced in the postseason at that time.

Coach Harrison helped guide multiple all-state players at Twinsburg and well over a dozen that went on to play soccer at the collegiate level.

Coach Harrison has served as a head coach for multiple teams at the club level. Most recently, he led the U15 Twinsburg A.C. girls while also serving as the Director of Coaching for the organization. He previously worked with the Stow Soccer Club for nearly a decade, serving as a head coach and then the Youth Academy Director.

Coach Harrison played soccer for four seasons at Walsh Jesuit High School, helping the Warriors win an OHSAA state title during his senior season. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial technology from Ohio University and also holds a D coaching license from the United States Soccer Federation.

Coach Harrison and his wife of 25 years, Marcea, have one daughter, Abrielle, who is set to be a junior at Kent State University. They reside in Reminderville, Ohio.
