Lancer Swimming Defeats NDCL in Final Dual Meet of Regular Season

The Lancers swimming program finished their 2020-21 regular season on a high note, with both the boys and girls teams defeating Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin in their final dual meet before their postseason journey. 

The Gilmour boys team earned a 83-44 victory over the Lions, and had first-place relay finishes in the 200 medley by Lane Levengood '23, Ian Colleran '24, John Stack '23 and Anthony Marino '24, the 200 free by Alex Figurella '22, Andrew Lewis '23, Colleran and Deaglan Bryant '23, as well as the 400 free by Figurella, Lewis, Stack and Bryant. Several Lancer swimmers won individual events as well, including Bryant (50 freestyle), Stack (100 fly), Lewis (500 free) and Colleran (100 breast). 

The girls team dominated from start to finish, and defeated NDCL 120-49. The team won 11 out of 12 events on the day, and finished the season 8-0 in dual meets. Individually, Savannah Hirsch '24 (200 free), Maddie Sammut '24 (200 IM, 500 free), Abby Meyer '21 (50 free), Laina Collis '24 (100 fly), Elizabeth Halloran '24 (100 free) and Gia Rosko '24 (100 breast) earned first-place finishes against the Lions. 

The Gilmour boys and girls swim teams will begin their postseason campaign on Friday, February 12 at Spire Institute as they participate in the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division II Sectional Meet.
