- The Gilmour Academy girls swimming team finished in eighth place at the OHSAA State Championship this past week
- The two-day meet took place at McKinley Senior High School's C.T. Branin Natatorium
- Gilmour, which scored 88 points at the meet, has finished among the top-10 at States in five of past six years
- The Lancers have also placed among the top-15 at the State meet in 11 consecutive seasons
- Kylee Radigan '22 had the best individual finish by a Lancer at the meet
- Radigan took sixth overall in the 100 backstroke in 58.15 seconds
- Laina Collis '24 earned a pair of top-eight individual finishes at the meet
- She was seventh in the 100 freestyle (53.07) and eighth in the 200 IM (2:10.24)
- Radigan and Collis both helped two GA relays to top-eight showings as well
- Collis, Radigan, Gianna Minotas '25 and Madeline Sammut '24 placed sixth in the 200 freestyle relay (1:39.34)
- The same foursome, in a different order, took eighth in the 400 free relay in 3:39.16
- Sammut also scored as an individual, as she placed 13th in the 200 freestyle in 1:58.01
- Minotas (100 backstroke), Radigan (50 freestyle) and Sammut (100 breaststroke) each added a top-20 showing in various events
- Andrew Lewis '23 led the GA boys team by scoring in the 100 backstroke
- Lewis placed 12th in the event in a time of 53.40 seconds
- He also tallied a top-20 showing in the 500 freestyle, finishing in 4:57.20
- The Gilmour boys just missed scoring in the 200 medley relay and were an alternate for the finals session
- Lewis, Ian Colleran '24, Alexander Figurella '22 and Deaglan Bryant '23 combined to finish in 1:41.15
