The Lancer Varsity A girls tennis team is off to one of its best starts in recent years with a 4-1 overall record as of its August 25 match against Cleveland Heights. Gilmour's top team in the tennis program earned victories against West Geauga, Canton Central Catholic, Lake Catholic and Cleveland Heights. The only loss was to a tough St. John's team out of Ashtabula.
In the loss, doubles duo Claire Jablonski '21 and Hadley Hairston '21 were victorious in three tie breakers 7-6, 6-7, 10-8. They have been on fire lately, proving to be a formidable pair. Lauren Kastelic '22 partnered with newcomer Bella Lasecki '23 to win the other doubles match 6-0, 6-0 versus St. John's. Kastelic has also teamed up with Maya Moufawad '21 for several matches this season. The duo's chemistry is growing with each match.
